Welcome Class of 2031!
We are excited for 6th graders to join our Grizzly family. Redmond Middle School has a Mission to ensure “students are prepared for the challenges and rewards of high school, future educational opportunities, the global workplace, and personal life.” At Redmond Middle School, students follow the Grizzly Way of being kind, honest and proud. As they learn and grow, we also want students to enjoy their middle school experience.
Save the Date!
6th Grade Student Orientation: On Tuesday, August 27th, we will be hosting 6th Grade students for orientation at the school. Orientation will start at 9am and wrap up at 12 noon. This event is for students only. Eighth grade leaders will be sharing about life at Redmond Middle School, engaging in team building activities and touring the school.
6th Grade Parents/Guardians: We would like to invite you to RMS for an Open House on Tuesday, August 27th. This is a casual event, running from 6:30pm – 7:30pm and will start in the Redmond Middle School gym. During this time, families will hear from Administrators and then have an opportunity to tour the school.
Academics and registration for Fall 2024
Students from feeder elementary schools were guided through the registration process by our counselors in the Spring of 2024.
All 6th graders are required to take Math, Language Arts, Social Studies, and Science. A semester of PE and Grizzly Prep are also required for 6th grade. Grizzly Prep helps students build meaningful and positive relationships and connections with one another and equips them with foundational skills needed to be successful in middle school and beyond. Except for students who selected Band, Orchestra, or Choir, the other class for students will be the Elective Wheel. This class introduces all 6th grade students, except those taking year-long music, to the Redmond Middle School elective program. Students will experience a 10-week introduction to Art, Family and Consumer Sciences, Engineering, and Modern Music History.
If you have any additional questions about registration, please contact your Counselor or our Registrar, Mini Chugh at mchugh@lwsd.org

Bell Schedule
Here is the bell schedule for the 2024-2025 school year: RMS Bell Schedule 2024-25
Grizzly Time
Grizzly Time occurs every Monday after 2nd period. Every other Wednesday students will also have a Grizzly Time based on a personal interest. Grizzly Time helps students connect with classmates and develop their social and emotional skills.
WIN Time
WIN time stands for “What I Need.” WIN is a time of the day where students can choose a class to receive extra academic help, or makeup or retake an assignment or test. Our students have busy and complex lives, so WIN can also provide students time to work on upcoming assignments/projects or study for tests with classmates. WIN time occurs every Tuesday, Thursday and Friday. Every other Wednesday is an “extended” WIN time for 60 minutes.
Redmond Middle School Staff
RMS Staff strives to provide challenging and engaging instruction in every class, every day. Teachers challenge students to learn, while supporting them in this process through a positive, personalized, and inspiring culture. Teachers consistently collaborate in the planning and implementation of effective, research-based instruction which teaches interdisciplinary skills, such as clear communication and critical thinking.
Activities and Athletics
Outside of the classroom, students access a wide range of clubs and athletic offerings that enrich their educational experience. The links below take you to the RMS website, where more detailed information can be found.

Make those physical appointments now! Our Fall Sports season begins September 9th! Registration is now open via Final Forms. All completed forms are due by September 5th at 12 PM for a student to participate in Fall sports.
Fall Sports: Cross Country (B/G), Badminton (B/G), Boys Soccer, Girls Tennis
Student Leadership
We work to empower students to take ownership of our RMS culture, as evidenced by our motto, The Grizzly Way.
Students can begin their Leadership journey as a 6th Grade Grizzly Time Representative or an elected 6th Grade ASB Officer. This program introduces 6th graders to the concepts of Servant Leadership and prepares them for future classes in leadership.
We are looking forward to a wonderful school year!
